Cleaning with automated ultrasonic system

Cleaning with automated ultrasonic system

An overall popular industrial cleaning method, used for anilox roller cleaning as well. This system includes a tank with cleaning solution, into which an anilox roller is immersed.

High frequency sound passing through the liquid stimulates cavitation, i.e. appearing of vacuum cavities (bubbles) in the liquid. The bubbles grow in size, reach the unstable state and burst at contact with the surface of the anilox roller. Dirt is pushed out of the cells by the power of microexplosion. The bubble size depends on the frequency of sound waves: the higher it is, the smaller bubbles are, the less impact it has on the anilox, so high frequency cleaning is often safer and more suitable for fine rollers, especially for their regular treatment.

Changing the sound frequency during cleaning is recommended, otherwise areas of higher and lower cavitating activity will form around the anilox roller ("hot" and "cold" spots). After the cleaning cycle the roller is rinsed to remove chemical residue. A medium-sized roller is usually clean in several minutes, leaving it in the ultrasonic tank without supervision for a long time is not allowed.

Conferum offers U-1, F-6, F-7, RG-6 and RG-7 wash solutions for ultrasonic cleaning.
