The requirements for the quality of flexographic printing are so great that the simplicity in this case is so costly that deep cleaning only after the ink transfer capacity no longer matches the specified values is not an option.
Regular deep cleaning should become part of the normal production procedure at each printing house: with the right approach, it will not affect the normal operation of the equipment in any way. For those who deal with screen printing and a high screen, this is even more important, since higher resolution images require deeper cells that are susceptible to blocking. The most important factor that affects blocking and helps determine the frequency of cleaning is the ink. UV-compositions do not evaporate and dry under normal conditions. It is for this reason that those who work with UV inks have access to screens of a higher line and can not perform cleaning often.
On the other hand, solvent and water based inks are very easy to dry in roller elements, and water-based inks are extremely difficult to clean. Such inks require very careful work, including daily washing, since any ink waste on the rollers will lead to dirty prints and will force an urgent cleaning of the roller.
